Stand still. The trees ahead and the bushes beside Stand still.
The trees ahead and the bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you,
If you leave it you may come back again, saying Here.

No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still.
The forest knows Where you are.
You must let it find you.

In that first hardly noticed moment in which you w In that first hardly noticed moment in which you wake,
coming back to this life from the other
more secret, moveable and frighteningly honest world
where everything began,
there is a small opening into the new day
which closes the moment you begin your plans.

What you can plan is too small for you to live.
What you can live wholeheartedly will make plans enough
for the vitality hidden in your sleep.

To be human is to become visible
while carrying what is hidden as a gift to others.

"If you trust in Nature, in what is simple in Natu "If you trust in Nature, in what is simple in Nature, in the small Things that hardly anyone sees and that can so suddenly become huge, immeasurable; if you have this love for what is humble and try very simply, as someone who serves, to win the confidence of what seems poor: then everything will become easier for you, more coherent and somehow more reconciling, not in your conscious mind perhaps, which stays behind, astonished, but in your innermost awareness, awakeness, and knowledge."

Dear land, I love everything about you. I love you Dear land,
I love everything about you.
I love your trees, your forests, your rivers and your warmth. I love standing on your mountain peaks and breathing in your cold, crisp air. I love your colors and the scent of your soil. I love your deers and your bears, your sheep and your goats, and all of your creatures, small and big.
I love your ladybugs and butterflies.
All of your healing plants. Your berries and mushrooms.
I love the loving hands that have nurtured you over the years. I love your grandmothers and your grandfathers. I love the loving hands that have nurtured me over the years. Here.
I love your humour. Your genius. Your soul. Your art.
I love your people and your truth. I love how close you feel to God. I love your rituals and your stories and your food. I love your nonsense and absurdity. I love each one of your shades and each one of your corners. I love that I get to be here. To learn to know and love you a little bit more each day. Thank you.
Enough. These few words are enough. If not these w Enough. These few words are enough.
If not these words, this breath.
If not this breath, this sitting here.

This opening to life
we have refused
again and again
until now.

Until now.
